"Ma maison, je la protège 4 saisons!" Contest
Do you own a home? Take steps to protect it against extreme weather events and enter for a chance to win!
The Ma maison, je la protège 4 saisons! contest is an initiative designed to encourage our communities across Quebec to become stronger and more resilient in the face of climate change.
Goal
The Ma maison, je la protège 4 saisons contest aims to encourage homeowners to be proactive in protecting their homes rather than waiting until the last minute before an extreme weather event or after the damage is already done.
By recognizing and promoting local initiatives that help build resilient homes, IBC contributes to the safety and sustainability of our communities.
Reasons to enter
Climate change is a reality we have to face. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and intense, threatening our homes and communities. Taking proactive steps is crucial to making our homes more resilient.
This contest is a practical way to educate homeowners about climate risk and encourage them to take steps to better protect their homes.
Prize
We will reimburse up to $3,000 of your costs. A draw from among eligible entries will be held once a month over a three-month period.
Participants will also be in a draw for one of five 72-hour emergency survival kits. Kits include a water container, flashlight, multi-function pocket knife, candle, matches, blankets, plastic tarps, gloves, a first aid kit and more.
Eligibility
Eligible work may include but is not limited to:
- Preventing water infiltration (for example, foundation caulking)
- Protecting against basement leaks and back-ups (for example, installing a backwater valve)
- Installing a generator
- Installing a water evacuation pump
- Keeping water away from foundations (for example, installing window wells and grading your property)
- Caulking around water entry points such as windows and front doors
- Improving the resilience of your roof and exterior cladding (for example, re-roofing and pruning trees to prevent them from falling onto your house)
No matter the season you’re protecting your home against, enter today for a chance to win and help make our communities more resilient!

Terms
The contest will run throughout the summer (see the “Contest period” section). Three draws worth up to $3,000 will be held from among all eligible entries for the months of July, August and September. They will take place within 10 days of the end of the month and the winners will be announced on the Infoassurance Facebook page (in French only).
To be eligible, you must enter by 11:59 p.m. on the last day of the month in progress (that is, August 1, August 29 or September 26).
At the end of September, contest participants will also be in a draw for one of five 72-hour emergency survival kits. Kits include a water container, flashlight, multi-function pocket knife, candle, matches, blankets, plastic tarps, gloves, a first aid kit and more.
To be declared a winner, any selected participant must respond to the organizers via Facebook Messenger within seven business days of being nominated. IBC will attempt to contact selected participants three times within this period (seven business days). Once they have accepted the nomination, selected participants will have five business days to submit their invoice to confirm they accept the applicable prize.
The winner must submit an invoice for expenses incurred on a project to strengthen the resilience of his or her home. IBC will reimburse up to $3,000.
If the winner does not submit an invoice within the prescribed time limit for any reason, they will be disqualified and forfeit all rights to claim the applicable prize. Time permitting and in its sole and absolute discretion, IBC reserves the right to then select another eligible entry via draw from all remaining eligible entries.
Once a participant has claimed a prize, their name will be removed from future draws. Only one entry per participant will be eligible for the term of the contest. Winners who do not respond within the prescribed time limit will also be removed from future draws.
Once confirmed as winners, participants agree to have their first and last name published on the Infoassurance Facebook page and on infoassurance.ca.
The following people are not eligible: employees, agents and representatives of Groupement des assureurs automobiles, Insurance Bureau of Canada, suppliers of prizes, materials and services related to the competition as well as the persons with whom they are domiciled.
