Using your personal vehicle for work
Your insurer needs to know what you use your vehicle – the one registered to your name – for. If you use it for work, you need to declare this to your insurer.
Why have to declare it?
In fact, anything that can impact the risk and the premium amount must be declared to the insurer. As well:
- Estimate your annual mileage as accurately as possible
- Describe the types of merchandises you deliver, where applicable
- Declare all previous losses and claims
You could also benefit from additional coverage depending on your situation. For example, if you use your car for your work, coverage that would allow you to rent a car temporarily in case of loss could prove very useful!
Be accurate!
If you don't tell your insurer everything that could influence the risk, you may not be compensated following a loss, or only be partially compensated.
