Safe driving for ATV
Safety first when it comes to enjoying your outdoor sport!
Don't neglect these 6 measures
-
Wear a helmet and the right clothing, gloves and footwear.
-
Carry a basic survival kit. Your cell phone may not work off the beaten track. It's recommended that you carry a topographic map or GPS receiver.
-
Use snowmobile or ATV trails.
-
Stay on the right-hand side of the trail.
-
Slow down, especially at night.
-
Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Respect trail security officers
Trail security officers are volunteers. They're there to keep you safe. Respect them!
Driving on ice
If you must drive on a lake or river in winter, stick to marked areas that are patrolled by a club. Crossing a body of water in early and late winter is not recommended.
Obstacles that are hidden by snow, such as docks, can become death traps, especially at night.
