11 rules for safe winter driving
  1. Install snow tires from December 1 to March 15. It's the law!

  2. Have your vehicle thoroughly inspected.

  3. Install winter wiper blades.

  4. Make sure that tire valves are equipped with caps to keep out snow and ice.

  5. Carry a winter emergency kit.

  6. Check road conditions before leaving. If weather conditions are bad, take public transport or delay your departure.

  7. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to arrive.

  8. Carry extra windshield washer fluid.

  9. Remove snow from your vehicle before venturing out. Driving around in a mobile igloo could have dangerous implications and get you a fine!

  10. Slow down if weather conditions are not good and if visibility is reduced.

  11. Carry a charged cell phone.
